    Official Mario Kart Wii Rules for FFC4

    ****************Rules are subject to change****************

    In Frag For Cancer's (FFC) Mario Kart Wii 2009 tournament, players must attain a certain position in each race to avoid a losing tally. With more than 40 competitors, players must either attain fourth position or higher (ie: third, second or first) to avoid a losing tally in each race. When there are between 25 and 32 competitors remaining, players must either attain third position or higher (ie: second or first) to avoid a losing tally.When there are between 15 and 20 competitors remaining, players must either attain second position or higher (ie: first) to avoid a losing tally. When there are 10 or less competitors remaining, players must attain first position to avoid a losing tally. Once a competitor has two losing tallies they are eliminated from the tournament. These rules do not rely on the point system of the game and will therefor minimize the occurance of ties.

    The winner of FFC's Mario Kart Wii 2009 must attain first position in the last competitive race. However, if only one competitor reamins and all competitors have been eliminated, he/she will be declared champion of Mario Kart.

    =========================================
    Strategies allowed

    Competitors are allowed to use two strategies to attain the objective. Players can compete by trying to attain first position early on in the game and try to maintain that position until the race is over. However, players can also idle back a few positions so they improve their chances of recieving more powerful items to use whenever they like, even during the last few moments of the race if they choose. Hybrids of both strategies are allowed as well.

    =========================================
    Format of races and in game specifics

    * 7 to 9 players (depends on how many competitors are remaining and maximization)
    * number of tournament competitors will be maximized
    * five computers always
    * 150cc
    * stage selection will be random
    * same-character glitch will be allowed so competitors can use the same character if they must
    * karts or bikes are allowed
    * items will be set to strategic
    * manual or automatic is allowed
    * including the wii wheel, all controllers are allowed
    * modified controllers are banned
    * in case your wireless remote batteries die, it is your responsibility to have a spare pair of AA's at hand and replace your dead batteries
    * no pausing of anykind is allowed

    =========================================

    Players will be assigned to their positions randomly by tournament staff and only tournament staff. If you ask to play with another competitor or argue with the staff you will be disqualified. Once positions have been taken, races will begin. However, positions will change after each race. The two players that finish the race in lower positions will be repositioned randomly. For example if all four competitors placed first, second, third and fourth, the players that came in third and fourth will be randomly reassigned to a new Wii consol with new competitors. The players that achieveved the two highest positions (ie: first and second) will remain at their current Wii. Make note, though, that all competitors in the race can still recieve a losing tally if none of them attain a position higher than the objective. This format will allow everybody to compete against some of the different playstyles of different competitors.

    =========================================
    Banned stages

    There are no banned stages.

    =========================================
    Shortcuts

    Only shortcuts that are known and intentionally in the design of the stage are allowed. For example, using the fifth yellow bump to jump the pit at Bowsers Castle 3 is banned.

    =========================================
    Exceptions

    In case the same-character glitch does not work, the competitor with no losing tally will choose first. If both competitors have no losing tallies than a simple coin toss will determine who gets to pick the character.

    If remaining competitors recieve their second tally in the final race (thus be eliminated), races will take place until one of the finalists attains first position and therefore be crowned champion.

    =========================================
    Sportsmanship

    If somebody tries to interfere with the conection of wireless controllors they will be disqualified. Taunting is allowed, as well as cheering. Both are encouraged since that fuels gas mers and the culture. However, if things get out of hand disqualifications to players may occur by tournament organizers. Physical abuse is not tolerable and will resut in an immediate disqualifaction.

    =========================================
    Legal disclaimer

    None of the organizers for FFC are responsible for personal belongings and mental or physical injuries that may occur while competing in FFC's Marioi Kart Wii 2009.
