As one of the organizers of the Brawl tournament, I was pretty angry to see how long the process was taking. We thought by 4, we'd be ready, but we had to wait because we weren't actually able to set up. The Mario Kart tournament went longer than expected. Also, when we did manage to finally get it started, we were limited to 3 TVs. Plus, people were playing in other games, so getting half of our games started was impossible. Our tournament didn't end until 11:30, and that's only because the Semi's and Finals were cut down to best 2 out of 3 instead of the intended 3 out of 5. I'm fairly certain it was a well-known fact that things can and likely would be pushed back/delayed as I mentioned in the disclaimer on the main page a few days ago. </p> <p>The main reason SF4 started later than usual was because Halo took longer than expected. Halo had a ridiculous turn out, much more than we had in all of our previous years. Halo and SF4 shared the same systems. Another thing that went wrong was having the right amount of copies of SF4 and saved profiles for it. The people that were supposed to have this done for us at the event did not come through for us. Luckily there were some participants at the event who brought their own hard drives preemptively and let us get on with the tournament. Those two reasons is why SF4 took longer than usual to start/end. The '30' minute break at 7:00 was for the comedians/beatboxer. When all was said and done, and SF4 started, it went by pretty smooth and was pretty joyful to watch. The tournament that actually took the longest was Brawl. </p> <p>Sometimes you have to look at it from other people's perspectives. There was much more than just SF4 at the event. We welcome your criticism because it allows us to run this better year by year. Street Fighter was scheduled to start at 4:00 and didn't start till 6:30. Two and a half hours of waiting. To make things worse, once it finally began, players were kept waiting between matches for over 15 minutes. It's not that hard to set up a tournament bracket and call out matches when they need to be played. What was the point in having 5 setups with nobody playing at them for 10-15 minutes at a time?! To make everything that much worse, there was a 30 minute break at 7:00!! I left at this point without even playing a game. I was just too fed up with the lack of organization and control over the event. Why does anyone need a break from sitting and waiting? I wanted a break from waiting and actually play a game. The tournament was double elimination and at the rate it was going, it was never going to get finished. There was also the stand-up comedian that was supposed to perform, so I was anticipating another break for that. </p> <p>I think the lack of organization is to be frowned upon.
