Rules

Equipment

*Update: FFC will provide Desktops, mice and keyboards for our competitors, but not headphones, please bring your own headphones!

1. Players may choose to use their own peripherals.
2. All players must submit drivers for their equipment by 11am September 25th. Players who do not will use provided equipment.
3. All Player equipment is subject to approval.
4. Players may not use 3rd party Add-ons.
5. Players must provide their own Battle.net account with an active Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty license for the North American (NA) Region.
6. Players may not change the Computer/Monitor sound and video settings in Windows.
7. Players may not change the in-game video settings.
8. Players may not use the Windowed or Windowed (Full Screen) Display Modes.
9. All interface changes must be supervised by a Starcraft 2 Referee or the Starcraft 2 Tournament Director.
10. Players may change the various sensitivity settings, but only while supervised by a tournament official.

General Rules

1. The latest official Patch version will be used throughout the Event.
3. In the case of a Computer/Monitor malfunction, the Game will be restarted from the beginning.
4. If a Game is started without the approval of a Referee it will be restarted. If a Player fails to report to their Station within 10 minutes of the announcement, they will Forfeit the 1st Game. 15 minutes after the announcement, a Player will Forfeit their Match (Semi- and finals only). If both Players Forfeit their Match, a player will be selected at random to advance.
5. Players may be disqualified if they leave their Station without their Referee’s permission, or are otherwise unable to play.

Gameplay

1. No Pausing a Game without Referee’s permission. If an issue arises that requires a Pause, Players should contact their Referee immediately. Referees may approve or deny a Player’s request to Pause the Game. Pausing a Game without Referee’s permission will result in a Warning. If a Player receives a 2nd Warning they will Forfeit their current Game.
2. Players may not look at an opposing Player’s Monitor or projected screen.
3. Players may not chat (to their opponent, or anyone else) in-game unless they are engaging in pre-game sportsmanship or surrendering the Game.
4. Players must disable Toast Notifications in the Battle.net options.
5. Players must set their status to Busy.
6. Breaking any of Gameplay Rules #2-5 will result in a Forfeit of the Game.
7. Any sign of cheating may result in a Forfeit of the Game, and disqualification from the Event.
8. The Map for Game 1 (or just the Game in the case of non-BO3 matches) of each Match will be selected by FFC and announced prior to the Match. An effort will be made to select a map that does favour one player’s race over another.
9. Prior to the start of a Match and the Blind Pick of Races*, each Player may select one Map, from the list of Maps, that can’t be chosen for the Match.
10. The loser of a Game must select the Map for the next Game (Semi- and finals only).
11. No Map may be played more than once in the same Best of 3 Game Match.
12. Referees will conduct a Blind Pick of Races prior Game 1 of a Match.
13. The loser of a Game may select a different Race for the next Game (Semi- and finals only).
14. Players who quit out of a Game before it has ended, without Referee’s permission, will lose the Game.
15. Players who are disqualified prior to the start of a Game will not be allowed to play in the Game. Players who are disqualified during a Game must quit out of the Game.
16. A tournament official will host the match.
17. Only FFC Staff members may connect to the server as an observer. Inviting someone to observe a Match without Referee’s permission will result in a Warning. If a Player receives a 2nd Warning they will Forfeit their current Game.
18. If a Player loses their connection to the Host during a Game, the Game must be replayed.
19. If an observer loses their connection to the Game, but both Players remain in the Game, the Game must continue.
20. If all Minerals on the Map have been consumed and no Units or Structures have been killed for 5 minutes, the Game will be replayed.
